April is our quarterly Neighborhood Funding Grant distribution meeting! We have six organizations requesting funding. Please join us to hear about their project and give us your input on what you think should be funded!
We’ll also be discussing safety, the city’s proposed EIFD (Enhanced Infrastructure Financing District) for the river, and GCPNC Social Media Guidelines.
The Echo Theater in Atwater Village is hosting a benefit performance of their latest play on behalf of SELAH Neighborhood Homeless Coalition! The production is called THE WOLVES, and it just got a rave review in the LA TIMES.The great news — all proceeds from this performance will go to SELAH and to help combat homelessness in Los Angeles!
The performance will take place on Saturday, March 30th at 3pm at Atwater Village Theater Complex (3269 Casitas Avenue 90039). Tickets are $34, and running time is a brisk 90 minutes. The show is about a group of young women on a high school soccer team who are battling insecurity, body image, and what it means to become an adult. It’s heartbreaking, hilarious, and poignant. There’s a reason why it was such a huge hit in NYC. Watch a trailer for it here.
Join us on us March 30th by purchasing tickets here. We’ll have volunteers on hand to talk about SELAH, and there will be refreshments (including adult beverages) to be had.
Greater Cypress Park Neighborhood Council will be holding a special meeting on Tuesday 2/19 @ 7pm at the Cypress Park library to discuss election funding and a temporary change to the NPG funding process.
