The Greater Cypress Park Neighborhood Council condemns the hatred, racism, bigotry, homophobia, classism, ignorance, gerrymandering and sheer corruption of power and insists that Kevin DeLeon and Gil Cedillo follow suit with Nury Martinez and resign their LA City Council positions immediately. Such viewpoints are unacceptable in Cypress Park and the city of Los Angeles.
Councilmember elect Hernandez should immediately take her elected seat on behalf of CD1.
It is imperative that an examination and study be done on the current city districts and design a redistricting process that is outside of the control of current election officials which may include additional city council seats to be able to represent the city more equitably for all.
An investigation by the city attorney’s office as well as the appropriate state and federal agencies should commence immediately into the corruption surrounding these council members and city hall.

El Consejo Vecinal de Greater Cypress Park condena el odio, el racismo, la intolerancia, la homofobia, el clasismo, la ignorancia, la manipulación y la pura corrupción del poder e insiste en que Kevin DeLeon y Gil Cedillo hagan lo mismo con Nury Martínez y renuncien a sus cargos en el Concejo Municipal de Los Ángeles de inmediato. Tales puntos de vista son inaceptables en Cypress Park y la ciudad de Los Ángeles.
La concejal electa Hernández debe tomar inmediatamente su asiento electo en nombre del CD1.
Es imperativo que se realice un examen y estudio de los distritos actuales de la ciudad y diseñe un proceso de redistribución de distritos que esté fuera del control de los funcionarios electorales actuales y que pueda incluir escaños adicionales en el concejo municipal para poder representar a la ciudad de manera más equitativa para todos.
Una investigación por parte de la oficina del fiscal de la ciudad, así como de las agencias estatales y federales correspondientes, debe comenzar de inmediato sobre la corrupción que rodea a estos miembros del consejo y al ayuntamiento.
