Benefit for SELAH Neighborhood Homeless Coalition

By | Events, Homeless, Volunteer Oportunities

The Echo Theater in Atwater Village is hosting a benefit performance of their latest play on behalf of SELAH Neighborhood Homeless Coalition! The production is called THE WOLVES, and it just got a rave review in the LA TIMES.The great news — all proceeds from this performance will go to SELAH and to help combat homelessness in Los Angeles!

The performance will take place on Saturday, March 30th at 3pm at Atwater Village Theater Complex (3269 Casitas Avenue 90039). Tickets are $34, and running time is a brisk 90 minutes. The show is about a group of young women on a high school soccer team who are battling insecurity, body image, and what it means to become an adult. It’s heartbreaking, hilarious, and poignant. There’s a reason why it was such a huge hit in NYC. Watch a trailer for it here.

Join us on us March 30th by purchasing tickets here. We’ll have volunteers on hand to talk about SELAH, and there will be refreshments (including adult beverages) to be had.

Homeless Engagement

By | Homeless, Volunteer Oportunities

We had another successful homeless engagement on Saturday in partnership with SELAH! Volunteers passed out hygiene kits (thanks GCPNC!), water, coffee, and fruit. We also collected valuable information about how we can better help our homeless neighbors. Join us for the next engagement at the end of the month by visiting the SELAH Facebook page!

Hygiene Kits for Homeless Outreach

By | Homeless, Volunteer Oportunities
Thanks to the generosity of the GCPNC, the Cypress Park NC Homeless Committee is funded to provide 50 hygiene kits a month to our neighbors. We’re excited to contribute these outreach efforts with the SELAH Neighborhood Homeless Coalition engagements. If you would like to volunteer, please click HERE.
